Christine Waisner, MS, LMFT

Psychotherapist and Owner

Through my own mental health journey, I’ve come to understand just how fragile joy and happiness can be. Life presents us with a myriad of stressors, and many grapple with deep loneliness or trauma. Navigating these complex issues can feel isolating, as if others don’t truly comprehend our struggles or believe we can simply “think” our way out of them. I firmly believe that genuine change arises from connection and emotion, not just thought.

Many of us know the reasons behind our behaviors, but even understanding ‘why’ often doesn’t stop us from engaging in patterns we dislike. We can’t simply will these behaviors away; instead, we must embrace the parts of ourselves that we find challenging to achieve real transformation. My purpose as a therapist is to empower you to trust and love every aspect of who you are.

This understanding led me to pursue a graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I was driven by a desire to help kids, adults and families discover safe, welcoming spaces within themselves and with one another. I chose this path because it offers a systemic perspective on mental health, emphasizing that challenges often stem from the broader contexts of our lives rather than from within the individual alone. We are not raised in isolation; our experiences are profoundly shaped by our families, friends, coworkers, and society. I am committed to understanding the various factors influencing your life and ensuring they are respected in our work together.

In my practice, I integrate this systemic approach with my extensive training in family therapy and trauma treatment. Each therapeutic journey is unique, tailored to meet your specific needs and personality. I often incorporate elements of Internal Family Systems (IFS), experiential therapy, somatic therapy, play therapy, and narrative therapy. I believe that integrating play and humor into our sessions can be transformative, facilitating a more authentic exploration of the self.

Outside of my work, you can often find me with my husband, daughter, dog, and cat, enjoying activities like reading, cooking, playing games, or embarking on new adventures.
